Talk/listen: next week with FemSoc

Next week’s a busy one for us. As well as Raisin and the usual deadlines, we’ve got two events taking place:

Thursday 7th

Spectrum Launch Party

School 1, 7pm

We will be celebrating the launch of FemSoc’s new radio show, Spectrum, with thought-provoking videos and discussion games. We will be taking a look at what feminism means today and the reasons behind creating Spectrum, as well as looking at some of the subjects we hope to cover. We will also be taking a listen to the first ever Spectrum edition, which begins in St Andrews itself and the efforts of the Union and the university in dealing with sexual harassment.

Come join us! There may be cake.

Find the Facebook event here.

Friday 8th

Transmission of Trauma in Post-Conflict Societies: Memory, Space and Identity

School 1, 6.30pm

by Pinar Kadioglu, a PhD Candidate in the School of International Relations.

The talk will focus on the impact of trans-generational transmission of traumatic memories on the reconciliation processes in the post-conflict environments (with a focus on post-conflict everyday life). Examples will include Northern Ireland and Cyprus.

The Facebook event is here.

We hope to see you at one or both of these!
